About Us

Lucedale veterinary care!

At Magnolia Animal Clinic we strive to provide the care needed for dogs and cats, cows and horses as well as goats and sheep. Magnolia Animal Clinic combines our compassion for your furry family member with the highest quality of care and attention. The philosophy of our practice remains that preventative medicine is always more successful than emergency medicine. Magnolia Animal Clinic recommends yearly dentals and physical exams, and senior wellness exams after the age of seven years old. We recommend wellness exams on new puppies/kittens. We also feel that diagnostic blood work is one of the keys to helping our hospital locate possible issues with your pet’s health before they become serious.

A key concern for your pet at Magnolia Animal Clinic is heartworm disease. Heartworms are one of the biggest killers of both dogs and cats in Mississippi. As defined by the American Heartworm Society, “heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by parasitic worms living in the arteries of the lungs and occasionally in the right side of the heart of dogs, cats and other species of mammals, including wolves, foxes, ferrets, sea lions and (in rare instances) humans.” Heartworm disease is preventable, simple to administer and inexpensive. There are a number of heartworm preventatives available for your pet.

In-clinic diagnostics are a vital part of care offered at Magnolia Animal Clinic. Our clinic has the most innovative blood chemistry and complete blood count analyzers available in veterinary medicine. Blood chemistry tests can tell our doctors what your pet cannot. Liver and kidney function can be evaluated for underlying diseases. Complete blood counts can inform our doctors of possible anemia, cancer and are an excellent indicator of the overall health of your pet. Your pet’s blood work can be completed in ten minutes giving our veterinarians the ability to make many diagnoses on the spot.
